Swiss Schools Introduce Emotional Intelligence Education at All Levels

Geneva, June 2025 — In a landmark reform, emotional intelligence (EI) will now be a formal part of the curriculum in Swiss schools from primary to tertiary levels. The reform follows studies indicating that emotional regulation and social awareness are as critical to long-term success as academic skills.

The new program includes modules on empathy, conflict resolution, resilience, and leadership, to be delivered through interactive workshops and experiential learning. Educators across the cantons are undergoing special training to facilitate these sessions, which align with Switzerland’s holistic approach to education.
