  • Jun 17, 2025
  • 1 min read

Switzerland’s latest strategic framework, known as the 2023 Declaration, outlines ambitious targets for the education system through 2028. Coordinated by federal and cantonal authorities, the reforms reinforce commitments to:

  • Enhancing system-wide quality via a national monitoring structure.

  • Strengthening digital skills, sustainable development, and political education.

  • Promoting lifelong learning, second-language proficiency, and STEM careers.

  • Maintaining a balanced mix between vocational and academic pathways.

  • Improving transition support, reducing study drop-out rates, and ensuring international mobility.

This policy also secures funding of CHF 29.2 billion for the 2025–28 period, aiming to maintain Switzerland’s international leadership in education, research, and innovation
