Switzerland’s latest strategic framework, known as the 2023 Declaration, outlines ambitious targets for the education system through 2028. Coordinated by federal and cantonal authorities, the reforms reinforce commitments to:
Enhancing system-wide quality via a national monitoring structure.
Strengthening digital skills, sustainable development, and political education.
Promoting lifelong learning, second-language proficiency, and STEM careers.
Maintaining a balanced mix between vocational and academic pathways.
Improving transition support, reducing study drop-out rates, and ensuring international mobility.
This policy also secures funding of CHF 29.2 billion for the 2025–28 period, aiming to maintain Switzerland’s international leadership in education, research, and innovation
